Newly designed and rebuilt in 2012, the 18th hole is the strong finish Mad River deserves. The hole plays slightly uphill with a gentle turn to the right, then downhill from the landing area on the approach. From the tips, the ideal shot moves left to right to work the ball in concert with the slope of the fairway and shorten the distance to the green.

Large pines line the entire right side of the hole through the green, while the left is protected by a single bunker as well as by a very deep, but unseen, grass swale about mid-green. The green is long and narrow, with a subtle front ledge that falls away to the back of the green.
