The second hole is a medium-length par four with seven bunkers on the right side of the landing area, though with plenty of room to the left. Challenging the bunkers with a drive to the left side of the fairway offers a shorter approach to a relatively shallow green with a moderate false front. Opting for the safe drive short of the bunkers leaves a much longer shot to the green.
While there are no bunkers protecting the green, the longer approach will likely require a shot that bounces into the upslope and over the front roll, a strategy the 2012 redesign now more readily accommodates. Long shots collect to a tightly mown chipping area off the back of the green. In contrast to the first hole, putts are relatively uncomplicated.
